We have heard the gun shots. Many neighborhoods have experienced the pain associated with violence and the West End and Visitation Park neighborhood is no exception. In 2021, 14-year-old Kathon Moore went for a bike ride and was fatally wounded on the corner of Etzel and Hodiamont weeks shy of his 15th birthday.
Funded by STL Violence Prevention Commission, Cornerstone Corporation (CDC), Restore St. Louis, Pocketparks, St. Louis ArtWorks, and Great Rivers Greenway joined together to reclaim the space in honor of Kathon and all residents who wanted to enjoy our beautiful, historic neighborhood in peace and for peace. We will be featuring the special art installation from Pocketparks at the corner where Kathon loss his life in recognition of lives lost to gun violence this year alone and displaying a QR code for the youth film on violence prevention by St. Louis Artworks.
